MISSION STATEMENT
The purpose of the Peoria Medical Society is to promote the health and general welfare of the public; to respect and protect the rights and interests of the medical profession; to encourage the development and dissemination of knowledge as it pertains to all the branches of the art and science of medicine ; to unite the physicians of Peoria County, IL; to cultivate a true fraternal spirit among physicians; and to participate in organized medicine on both the state and national levels.

Can the Peoria Medical Society help me find my medical records?
If the physician was a member of the Peoria Medical Society at the time of departure from the area, the society may very well have information on where the medical records are located. Remember that medical records are not kept indefinitely. Current laws dictate how long medical records must be kept and the Peoria Medical Society staff is happy to assist with questions regarding this.

Peoria Medical Society Board & Staff
Representative William E Hauter, M.D. is a physician from Morton, IL. Born and raised in Morton, Bill went on to graduate from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 1997. Rep. Hauter then completed medical residencies in both Emergency Medicine and Anesthesiology at Indiana University. Bill is board certified and actively practices both specialties at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. A partner with the Associated Anesthesiologists, Dr. Hauter specializes in pediatric and adult cardiac anesthesia. He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine and Surgery (Anesthesiology) at the University Of Illinois College Of Medicine - Peoria.
Bill was elected to the Tazewell County Board and served on the Health Services and Property Committees. He was also an elected officer in his physician group, the Illinois Society of Anesthesiologists as well as several other medical societies and organizations. He is a Fellow and Delegate in the American Society of Anesthesiologists and a Fellow in the American Academy of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Hauter has participated in multiple medical missions in South America and Haiti. Bill has also owned and operated multiple small businesses. The Hauter’s are active in their church, adoption and pregnancy center ministries. Committee assignments: Health Care Availability & Access; Health Care Licenses; Insurance; Mental Health & Addiction; Prescription Drug Affordability; Public Health. June 22, 2023, I had the honor to be appointed to the Rare Disease Commission by House Republican Leader Tony McCombie. October 31, 2023, I formally became a member of the Children’s Health Caucus.
